Mr Bryan Taylor commenced in the Australian insurance industry at a time when the personal financial planning industry was in its infancy. His agency business specialised in investment advice from 1985 onwards and led to the formation of the specialist fee based advisory firm, which became Plan B. Bryan was in the first group of Australian Financial Planners to complete the Diploma of Financial Planning in the late 80's and to be awarded the designation "Certified Financial Planner".
After overseeing the growth of the company during the early 1990's, Bryan was succeeded by Denys Pearce as Managing Director, but has remained involved in guiding the strategic directions of the company in his role as Chairman.
He also remains the company’s Chief Investment Officer, heading up the Investment Policy Committee. In this role, he has been responsible for designing Plan B’s unique Core Portfolios, which enable clients to pool their assets to gain market and administration efficiencies, while still being invested according to their life and risk profiles. This combined with Plan B’s proprietary True North modelling enables clients to see the potential results of their life and investment choices and hence make important decisions with more knowledge and comfort.
Bryan is also a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) in the Western Australia chapter.
Outside Plan B, he is a member of the Board of the WA Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and is a trustee of the Trinity Theological College in Perth, of which he was the founding Chairman. Bryan is also an Elder in his local Church in Perth.
